Application
The Raschig ring is approximately equal in length and diameter, and is used as a packing in the tower during distillation and other chemical engineering processes. Provide a large surface area in the tower for the interaction between liquid and gas or steam.
In the distillation column, the refluxed or condensed steam flows down the column, covering the surface of the ring, while the steam from the reboiler rises into the column. When steam and liquid pass countercurrently in a small space, they tend to balance. It is suitable for devices that contact gas and liquid for gas absorption, stripping or chemical reaction, and as a support for biofilms in bioreactors.
