Talk about Honeycomb ceramics

Product introduction:

Honeycomb ceramics are a new type of ceramic product with a honeycomb-like structure. It is made of raw materials such as kaolin, talc, aluminum powder, and clay. It has various shapes composed of countless equal holes. The maximum number of holes has reached 120-140 per square centimeter, the density is 0.3-0.6 grams per cubic centimeter, and the water absorption rate is as high as 20%. This porous thin-walled structure greatly increases the geometric surface area of the carrier and improves the thermal shock resistance. The mesh holes of honeycomb ceramics are mainly triangular and square, among which triangular holes have better bearing capacity than square holes and more holes, which is particularly important as a catalytic carrier. With the increase of the number of holes per unit area and the decrease of the thickness of the carrier pore wall, the thermal shock resistance of the ceramic carrier is improved, and the temperature of thermal shock damage is also increased. Therefore, honeycomb ceramics must reduce the expansion coefficient and increase the number of holes per unit area.

Main materials:

Cordierite, mullite, aluminum porcelain, high alumina, corundum, etc.

Product application:

1) As a heat storage body: The heat capacity of honeycomb ceramic heat storage body is more than 1000kJ/kg, and the maximum operating temperature of the product is ≥1700℃. It can save more than 40% of fuel in heating furnaces, roasters, soaking furnaces, cracking furnaces and other kilns, increase production by more than 15%, and the exhaust gas temperature is lower than 150℃.

2) As a filler: Honeycomb ceramic fillers have advantages such as larger specific surface area and better strength than other shapes of fillers. They can make the gas-liquid distribution more uniform, reduce bed resistance, have better effects, and extend service life. They are very effective as fillers in petrochemical, pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries.

3) As a catalyst carrier: Honeycomb ceramics have more advantages in catalysts. Using honeycomb ceramic materials as carriers, using unique coating materials, and prepared with precious metals, rare earth metals and transition metals, they have the advantages of high catalytic activity, good thermal stability, long service life, high strength, etc.

4) As filter material: good chemical stability, resistant to acid, alkali and organic solvents; excellent resistance to rapid heating and cooling, the working temperature can be as high as 1000℃; good antibacterial properties, not easily degraded by bacteria, not easy to be blocked and easy to regenerate; strong structural stability, narrow pore size distribution, high permeability; non-toxic, especially suitable for food and drug processing.
